About This Training: This curriculum was developed by a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) and a consultant with over 15 years of experience in Minnesota home care and assisted living compliance.
Important Notice: Completion of these training modules does not replace the requirement for competency evaluations. All Unlicensed Personnel must still complete competency evaluations as required under MN Statute 144G.61.

Restraint Use & De-escalation: Annual Refresher
Annual 2-hour refresher on emergency restraint use, de-escalation, and person-centered care. Required each year for staff who may apply an emergency manual restraint under MN Statute 144G.65 (2026 session, Chapter 95).
Reporting of Maltreatment of Vulnerable Adults
This training covers mandated reporter responsibilities and procedures for reporting maltreatment of vulnerable adults under Minnesota Statute 626.557, including definitions, timelines, and legal obligations.
Person-Centered Planning and Service Delivery
This training covers the principles of person-centered planning and service delivery and how they apply to direct support services provided by staff, in accordance with Minnesota assisted living requirements.
Required Orientation (144G.63)
Mandatory staff orientation covering all nine required topics under Minnesota Statute 144G.63, Subd. 2(a) — overview of Chapter 144G, facility policies, emergencies, vulnerable adult reporting, bill of rights, person-centered planning, complaints, advocacy services, and service/licensure review — plus optional hearing loss training under Subd. 2(b).
